Styled With Glamour Wears... Probably Too Much Grey

I don't know what it is but I love a skirt with a slit and to be honest pleats too. This is a little DIY number I created from a skirt that was much too big for me. Just chop down one side, fold over and sew the raw edges and add a popper for a wrap around skirt. Could work with most skirts similar too.

So I will love you and leave you for now, as I am off to work, have a lovely weekend...

I am wearing TOPSHOP jumper, DIY skirt, VINTAGE bag and ASOS heels.

Styled With Glamour Wears... Sensible Shoes

Back with black, my typical combo. I have found that my outfits are tending towards a more casual look at the moment and this outfit is no exception. These are my new sensible shoes which are proving fabulous for my commute to college- not been a single blister in sight and I like the almost masculine look they have (my boyfriends brother bought a pair almost exactly the same just after I did)... Have a lovely weekend :)

I am wearing MISS SELFRIDGE leather jacket, ASOS top, DIY slip dress, POPWATCH watch and TOPSHOP shoes.

Styled With Glamour Wears... White Midi

Oops a second monochrome outfit in a row, what can I say it is still my go to colour combo. A bit more of a chilled look today with flat sandals and a tshirt. This skirt has been my project of today, it started this morning as my nans size 18 almost maxi skirt and is now my much more flattering split midi. I still need to create a bit of a lining for it as it is rather sheer but I am pleased with the (almost) end result. This skirt shape is one of my favourite designs, having already made it once before here back in April. Although this time was more of an alteration than making it from scratch, it fills the white skirt shaped whole in my wardrobe.

I also wanted to mention I got a new blog header, woo finally...I have been wanting one for a long time so got my talented uncle to create one for me and I really do love it, the cool font and star is much more me, so big thanks to my uncle :)

I am wearing MISS SELFRIDGE leather jacket, TOPMAN tshirt, DIY skirt, PARFOIS bag and NEXT sandals.

Styled With Glamour Wears... Off the Shoulder

Another monochrome outfit you are probably thinking but I can't deny I am still in a bit of a colour phobic phase so is probably one of my personal favourite combinations. Another of my favourite trends at the moment is off the shoulder tops, there is just something so feminine about showing off the collarbone area.
I paired my floaty top with peg leg trousers to balance out the fabric on top and finished off with my rather beautiful but to be honest not the comfiest heels. I bought the heels for my prom not that long ago and I knew they wouldn't quite last me the whole night but I couldn't resist them anyway :)

I am wearing TOPSHOP top, ASOS trousers and heels, DIY bag and POPWATCH watch.

Styled With Glamour Wears... Culottes

It finally feels like summer so out come the sandals and pasty limbs. I am taking a break from revision to show you my mid-exams treat with these culottes. I always find online shopping a good distraction from revision even if it isn't so good for my bank balance but anyway I am sure writing about how difficult a-level maths is is not going to be at all exciting, so I will just leave you with this look.
Adding a splash of colour with this printed blouse, which is just a beautifully draped shape. Black all round lets the greens and blues pop and the relaxed culottes and clutch make this a really comfortable summery look perfect for the heat. Finally finished with study leave hair (read: I rolled out of bed like this)

Enjoy the sunshine, I will hopefully be back to more regular posting soon when exams are over and I have regained the will to put on nice clothes rather than pyjamas :)

I am wearing ZARA blouse and sandals, ASOS culottes, MUK sunglasses and DIY clutch

Styled With Glamour Wears... Boyfriend Jeans

Moving away from midi skirts which looking back I seem to have worn in my last like four posts. I have been wearing trousers almost everyday recently and was getting a bit bored of skinny jeans so when I saw these jeans I thought they would make a nice change. I really like the relaxed feel of a shirt loosely tucked into boyfriend jeans, an almost rolled out of bed look, finished of course with heels.

I am wearing NEW LOOK shirt, GAP jeans, DOROTHY PERKINS heels, MISS SELFRIDGE hat and DIY clutch.

Styled With Glamour Wears... Pink Silk

Second post in a row featuring a midi skirt, I would be sorry but they are my favourite type of skirt at the moment. This outfit I wore to a wedding on Saturday, mixing a classic black t shirt with a pink silky skirt and finishing with leather accessories.
Sorry for the lack of posts, I am really enjoying my easter holidays, recovering from the stress of last term. It hasn't been all relaxing though, plenty of revision thrown in and a good amount of socialising too, and more exciting I turned 18 on tuesday so I am officially an adult now scarily. And I got an offer for the uni I want to go to next year too so its been a good past few days, that I just wanted to share.
I will try and post a bit more regularly before exam season starts, but I will leave you for now with this silky skirt... Enjoy your Easter weekends

I am wearing FRENCH CONNECTION top, skirt and clutch made by me, NEW LOOK shoes and RIVER ISLAND sunglasses

Just a quick late night post featuring my shearling jacket which is fast becoming my favourite thing to wear to stay warm at the moment. Here I paired it with a feminine skirt and chunky jumper finished with leather accessories.
Sorry for the brief post, life is very busy at the moment so I must get some sleep...

I am wearing TOPSHOP coat, NEW LOOK skirt and heels, DIY clutch and jumper knitted by my Gran.

Borrowed From the Boys

A great feature of having this blog is that it has captured my changing style. When I started this blog my style was very much influenced by vintage looks but now and especially in this outfit it's crazy how different it is. Todays look is very much borrowed from the boys with slip on trainers and beanie, something when I started this blog I would never have worn. It makes me wonder what my style will be like this time next year or even 10 years from now, will I still like the minimalist look or will I revert back to a more vintage style... I guess only time will tell.

H&M coat, M&S jumper, GAP jeans, RIVER ISLAND hat, TOPSHOP shoes and DIY clutch.

Let's Bring on 2014

Rather than reminisce on 2013 and show you various photos of the past year, I want to focus on what's to come. So here is a new outfit with my jumpsuit which I haven't shown on here yet. It is such an effortless item that can be worn in many ways. Here I paired it with pointed stilettos and an oversized clutch as well as my slouchy trench coat which has been one of my favourite items this year.
All that's left is for me to wish you a very happy new year. Let's bring on 2014, I have a feeling it could be a good year...

Dior Inspired Skirt

Every girl loves designer clothing but with my saturday job wage its all a bit of a dream having a wardrobe full of designer labels. So taking inspiration from the catwalks is the best thing right now and is almost more fun. This skirt created by me and my gran is inspired by this Dior skirt from their A/W 13 ready to wear collection. I saw the skirt in Vogue and after showing my gran we designed our own version which she knitted for me. I am so pleased with the outcome it is beautifully stitched and even better super warm for winter!

I am wearing M&S jumper bought in charity shop, DIY skirt, PRIMARK ankle boots and MISS SELFRIDGE fedora.

Nightwear and DIY espadrilles

Everytime I wear this playsuit my Dad likes to make the 'are you going out in your nightie?'  joke. Ah what we do for fashion, nightwear as daywear, underwear as outerwear the list goes on. I was glad for the looseness of this playsuit today in the heat and I still love its throw on easiness that it  has.
I just have to mention my DIY espadrilles, I have had them a few years now and they were feeling rather dull so I decided to bling them up. I was meant to go out and buy new gems but I decided to sew on an earring as decoration. I have only attracted them temporarily with a few stitches so I can swap round earrings and crystals to create new designs. I was really pleased with the outcome actually and although they aren't as exciting as the Chanel espadrilles I will continue to lust over they are a modern alternative to the plain navy design they were before.

I am wearing Pull and Bear playsuit, Office espadrilles DIYed with vintage earrings and Topshop sunglasses.
