Today's Look

How is your week going? I am on half term at the moment but have been spending most of the time studying as got so much work to do and my AS mocks in March. To compensate the boredom today I stocked up on magazines, two of my favourites Look and Company to read during my breaks and to catch up with all the fashion news and gossip, probably one of my favourite things to do on a cold day like today. If you get a spare minute check out teenystyle a website for teenage fashion, you can upload looks and fashion tips as well as read other posts by other teens on the latest trends. I uploaded  a look from this post!

Today I am wearing one of my favourite coats, I just love the bright colour and the 60s shape. I kept a sleek silhouette underneath with super skinny jeans (the softest I have ever known!) and a fitted black jumper. I am just wishing for summer!

I am wearing a TU coat I bought off Ebay, an Asos jumper, Topshop Jeans, Tammy heels, Republic bag and a H Samuel necklace.

Pearl Collar Necklace Tutorial

This is a tutorial on how to make a pearl collar necklace. To make it you will need some white felt (I bought two sheets of 22cm square white felt), enough pearls to cover the felt (I needed three small boxes which had around 30 in each), 1m of white ribbon, white thread, a needle, pins and scissors.
First I cut out a paper template of the shape of the necklace. I decided to go for a simple rounded shape. Then I pinned it to the felt.
Cut around the paper template and repeat so you have two felt necklace shapes.
Then start placing the beads on one of the felt shapes to the desired pattern before sewing them on by hand. I started by sewing a line of pearls around as an outline before filling in the centre.
Here is when I finished sewing on the pearl beads.
The behind of the felt shape ended up being covered in stitches so to cover them up and to add more strength I placed the other felt shape cut out before onto the back and pinned it down.
Then sew using a small stitch around the edge to completely cover all the stitching on the felt underneath, however leave the top flat edges open.
Cut the meter long ribbon into two equal length pieces and tuck the end of each into the open gaps. Sew across the top securing the ribbon in place.
Taadaah the finished necklace!
I can't wait to try this out again changing the beads and the shape of the felt to create more interesting necklaces.

Hope you have had a lovely day

Happy Birthday Sis

I just want to say a very happy birthday to my lovely little sis who is 15 today. Here are some pictures of what we did today. We went to the Hummingbird Bakery in Soho (the cupcakes were amazing), looked round Covent Garden, had pizza for lunch and we saw Shrek the Musical which was soo good. Hope you had a lovely day, I have got a tutorial in store for you all tomorrow.

Happy Valentines

Valentines day is one of those times which is only really special if you are celebrating it, being a single gal I tend to treat it as an excuse to eat more chocolate than normal but otherwise it is just a normal day. However if you are lucky enough to have someone to celebrate with then I hope you have a lovely day. I am only 16 so I guess now is the time to just enjoy ourselves.
I decided to use today as an excuse to show off this Topshop kilt which is the only red item in my wardrobe. I decided to put together this look with the idea that it could be worn as a casual look to celebrate valentines or just as a fun look to hang out with friends, luxing up the wool with leather accents.
Lots of love Jade xxx

I am wearing a Miss Selfridge leather jacket (on sale now!), an Asos jumper, Topshop skirt, Dorethy Perkins ankle boots, Accessorize gloves, Republic bag and Olivia Burton watch.

Shopaholic

These are some recent purchases I have made, what do you think of them?
1. The Sartorialist Closer- Really lovely book from The Sartorialist blog full of street style photography- I will do a post soon on my favourites.
2. Republic bag- Classic chain style bag to fill the gap in my bag collection.
3. Accessorize gloves- I feel like I have grown up now I have a pair of leather gloves, much more sophisticated than my stripy wool ones.

These will be my last purchases in a while as I have (for some crazy reason) decided to give up buying clothes and accessorizes for lent, not because I am religious but because I think my debit card really needs it and everyone is always telling me that I have to start saving for the future. I am honestly dreading it already I am such a shopaholic! What have you given up?

On a rainy day...

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend- mine has been very quiet. I worked yesterday and today I have to do a pile of homework and prepare for my art exam tomorrow. It's very rainy here which is why I look a bit squinty in these photos but I hate to let the weather get the best of me so getting a bit wet didn't stop me taking some pictures. Hope you have a great week

With The Weather

I suppose I am one of those people who's style is affected by the weather, so right now when it is rather cold and very windy outside I am in the kind of mood to wear an all black outfit. To jazz it up a bit (can't believe I said that)  I wore a leopard scarf and I am also wearing my new ankle boots.
Hope you are having a good week
