Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!
Carving pumpkins is a tradition in my household since my sister and I were little so this is our creation this year. Firey eyes and jagged mouth is a bit different to my cat design last year but also much more scary. It also helps attract waves of kids to our front door so we are well stocked with candy and I just hope there will be some left over!
Being a really dull rainy day today, my sis and I decided to do a spot of baking. If I'm honest I am a bit of a fail in the kitchen but I am starting to enjoy the odd bit of baking so we made these Smarties brownies which actually turned out really well! We used a BBC recipe which was adapted quite a bit as we didn't have some of the right ingredients. Not quite halloween themed but they taste good.
Enjoy your halloween night x

Styled With Glamour Wears... Pointed Stilettos

All black look that I wore out for dinner on Saturday night wearing my new heels. I am still tottering around in these shoes, not quite used to the stiletto yet but I just love the elegance of a skinny heel so I will keep going till I can walk without the feeling of falling over in them!
Events have occurred today that have made me feel really thankful for what I have got and reminded me that life is short, so I just want to say thank you for reading and live life to the full.

I am wearing TOPSHOP jeans, NEXT jumper and NEW LOOK heels (bought on sale)

Styled With Glamour Wears... The Split Midi

As the title suggests this look is about the split midi, the splits on this skirt are rather large which make it maybe not school appropriate but I hate to just save clothing for special occasions so an oversized jumper and boots make it more wearable even if I had to hold the skirt slits shut when wandering round school as it tended to reveal both legs in the wind.
In recent times the midi skirt has completely over taken the maxi, shops are full of midis in full and tight forms and I was thinking about why the midi can be seen as better than the maxi. Personally I prefer the midi, I think they have a greater wearability than the maxi and have a much more stylish quality to them. They also come in a much larger range of styles meaning they can be worn by everyone, adding heels means those who are shorter can wear them, a tight style flatters curvy figures and an a line shape suits wider hips. Anyway enough with the midi I must get back to my homework, do you prefer the midi or maxi?

I am wearing TOPSHOP skirt (bought on sale), M&S jumper (thrifted), ZARA boots and & OTHER STORIES earrings (bought on sale)

Wrap Dress and Slip Ons

I never thought I would be the kind of girl to wear these slip on trainer shoes but here I am, I love that this blog has helped me try out new looks and ideas. Another fab thing is this dress which I bought the other day, I must confess I can be a bit of an impulse buyer but I was sensible and waited a few days before buying this. I have a theory that if you see something and you continue to think about it after you've seen it about how to wear it with other things in your wardrobe then its a good purchase. So I am afraid you might see this dress a lot over the winter. Here with a casual spin of leather and flats but I am thinking it will be great with heels as well as a winters coat and boots.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Spot Of Reading

Gosh I haven't posted in a while, I had a bit of an uninspirational week and just when I have an outfit to photograph it is dark by the time I have got home. Autumn really does make it hard to get a photo in daylight being at school all day. So rather than an outfit here is the Man Repellers book which I finished this week. It's a must read full of hilariously honest stories and cringey moments following her fashion story including a story of ruining a pair of Manolo Blahnik's within a couple of hours and an unfortunate mishap of a 'Hermes' clutch in the back of a taxi as well as chapters with names such as Shoe York City and more randomly The Period Panties. Intertwined with her fashion story is the love story between her and her now husband proving even someone with a blog called The Man Repeller can nab herself a man.

Bit more leopard...

My leopard print obsession continues with this graphic print scarf I picked up on friday. I paired it with a black base today for school to let the print pop. I have so much leopard in my wardrobe now its starting to crawl its way into most of my outfits!

I am wearing H&M scarf, ZARA blouse and boots and TOPSHOP skirt.

Tartan

Tartan is one of my favourite trends for A/W 13 but being in a sixth form where all the lower years have to wear a lovely green tartan it is finding pieces which have a more grown up print which doesn't look like I am trying to recreate the uniform. This is why this blouse caught my eye, the tartan printed chiffon is delicate but the contrasting white collar adds a playful edge. It was one of those items I spotted instore and instantly wanted to buy even though I am not usually a huge fan of collars.

I am wearing ZARA blouse and boots and TOPSHOP jeans.

Dior Inspired Skirt

Every girl loves designer clothing but with my saturday job wage its all a bit of a dream having a wardrobe full of designer labels. So taking inspiration from the catwalks is the best thing right now and is almost more fun. This skirt created by me and my gran is inspired by this Dior skirt from their A/W 13 ready to wear collection. I saw the skirt in Vogue and after showing my gran we designed our own version which she knitted for me. I am so pleased with the outcome it is beautifully stitched and even better super warm for winter!

I am wearing M&S jumper bought in charity shop, DIY skirt, PRIMARK ankle boots and MISS SELFRIDGE fedora.
