but tomorrow I will be stuffed with yummy food, surrounded by my lovely family and hopefully will have got some great presents so I thought now would be the best time to wish you all a very merry Christmas.

Have a wonderful day full of joy and I hope Santa brings you all everything you wished and dreamed for!

Living Through The End Of The World

Coat- Debanhams / Turtle Neck- H&M / Dungarees- Topshop / Fur Scarf- Charity Shop originally John Lewis / Bag- Charity Shop originally Marks and Spencer / Ankle Boots- New Look / Jewelry- Accessorize
So much for the end of the world, we are all still here and going strong.

Actually I am not going very strong at the moment having caught the coughy coldy virus thing that's going round at school. Just what I wanted before christmas. So right now I am curled up in a thick scarf and many layers hoping I will get my voice back in time for not just work tomorrow but of course christmas.

As from my last post I expressed my love for dungarees and my dad very kindly bought me these Topshop dungarees for speech day I had last week where I got my GCSE's and prizes. But I couldn't resist wearing them before hand so this is what I wore last weekend, I paired the dungarees with a turtle neck, thick tights and a furry warm scarf for the chill in the air.

Have a lovely weekend

A Bit Of A Mash Up

Jumper- Charity shop originally Next / Jeans- Cheap Mondays / Shoes- BHS / Bag- Vero Moda / Headband- Claires Accessories / Jewellry- Accessorize

This look is a bit of a mash together partly arabian night, a bit ladylike with a splash of Mary Poppins. This jumper was a recent charity shop find, it is the softest jumper I own and is a lovely powder blue colour which I thought went perfectly with my pearls (sorry you've seen them so much!). The headband was a recent purchase too, I don't think I suit hats very much as well as creating the hat hair drama so this was my halfway point. Finally this is as my dad calls it my Mary Poppins bag, sometimes I am suprised at what I find in it, it really does have what seems a never ending bottom.

Sorry I look rather tired in these photos, tired is just how I feel at the moment. As much as I love Christmas this year there seems to be so much on and so much to do that it is just truely wearing me down. Not only is school work piling up to be due in by christmas, there are Christmas presents to buy and I have costumes to organise for the school pantomine. And not enough hours in the day. I just cannot wait for the holidays to relax with friends and family.

Thanks for reading, enjoy your week

Simplicity

Jumper- Asos / Jeans- Cheap Mondays / Bag and Shoes- Primark / Pearls- Accessorize
I am such a fussy person when it comes to jeans, I can spend hours, days, weeks, months searching for a pair. That said I own a few pairs of jeans but I have to say as much as I love them all none are perfect. I have ones which are too short, too big round the top, a dodgy zip and ones which have ended up covered in paint from my art lessons. These Cheap Monday jeans are no exception as much as I loved that they were half price when I got to the store on Carnaby Street, they are a tad tight around the top now. If anyone ever finds the perfect pair let me know !

Rant over back to the outfit, I went for a very classic look matching up the white jeans with a black jumper and neutral accessories. I felt really good in this outfit and really enjoyed the simplicity of it. Simplicity is something which sounds so easy but is probably one of the hardest looks to achieve truly.

Hope your week is going okay

Finishing With Some Pearls

Coat- Debenhams / Fur Scarf- Charity shop previously John Lewis / Jumper- Asos / Trousers, Shoes and Bag- Primark / Neck, Bracelet and Earrings- Accessorize
Sorry for the complete lack of posting recently unlike those who cannot wait to wrap up in jumpers and scarves when it comes to winter, I manage to become completely disfunctional. Sometimes I think it would be better if I hybanated all winter and just came out when it got warm again.

I wore this outfit last night when the family and I went out for dinner with some of my Dads friends. I always typically think when going out in the evening to put on a dress but yesterday I felt like wearing something a bit less girly. I ended up wearing these palazzo pants with a loose jumper and of course finishing with some pearls.

Have a lovely week Love Jade xxx

Velvet Obsession

Jumper- Zara / Skirt- Topshop / Shoes- BHS / Sunglasses- Fenwicks
I have a complete obsession with velvet at the moment so when I saw this skirt in Topshop I had to get it even with Christmas round the corner. It is such a lovely shape emphasising the waste and skimming the hips.
This is another outfit inspired by Audrey Hepburn which is why I tried out a bouffant and sunglasses. I finally got round to watching Breakfast at Tiffany's on Saturday night and it was such a beautiful film. I loved the elegance of it and of course how beautiful Audrey Hepburn looked throughout.

Hope you had lovely weekends

Leaves, Leather and Long Skirts...

Leather Jacket- Miss Selfridge / Skirt- Topshop / Top- Topshop / Scarf- Charity Shop originally John Lewis / Ankle Boots- New Look / Bag- Black Cactus / Bracelet- Accessorize / Belt- Vintage
My weekends have been so busy recently from working on Saturdays, babysitting on Sundays and having a ton of homework to catch up on, I haven't found the chance to go and take some outside photos. So today when I didn't have to babysit my sister and I went out for some autumny shots. I love this last photo my sister took and throwing leaves about truly made me feel like I was six again.

I decided to go for quite a glamorous look today by mixing up this floaty maxi skirt with leather and fake fur. This skirt used to be my mums dress but it was a strange length and rather large on me so I tucked in the straps and belted it with my dad's old scout belt. Due to being quite petite I added heels to create a longer silhouette and balance out the different layers.

Finally I just wanted to mention my clutch bag. It is from Black Cactus and I brought it at a fair on sale for just £10 but they have some beautiful designs on their website at the moment. The fabrics are all hand printed and the bags are constructed in their South London studio. I love the gold and purple fabric they currently have which are perfect for christmas! (Can't believe its only 36 days away!)

Have a lovely week

Throwing on clothes...

Coat- Debenhams / Jumper- Primark / Skirt- Topshop / Belt and Earrings- Primark / Shoes- New Look
Happy Thursday!!!
Putting outfits together rather quickly at 7:15 in the morning is becoming a daily occurance as I can never find the time to lay my clothes out the night before. Instead I end up throwing on the first outfit I think of and hoping that it looks ok when I have woken up properly. This is what I ended up throwing on today, I always try to look a little bit different from everyone else but not too different that people point and laugh in the corridors. I decided to wear this skirt today which can be quite formal but with a knitted striped jumper and wedged ankle boots is more casual. Finally I belted the jumper under my swing coat to define my waist.
I have had this coat for many years and as I grew in this time I added on the fur cuffs to make the sleeves longer. It was a super simple process and great for just reinventing an old item.

Biba and Beyond

Yesterday having Sunday off, I headed down to Brighton to the Biba and Beyond exhibition at the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery. I am so glad I made it down there. The exhibition told the story of the iconic Biba brand and the life of its iconic designer Barbara Hulanicki. It was really fascinating how she built up the brand from a single shop in Brighton to a huge department store in London.
As well as being really successful she is a hugely talented lady, her illustrations are beautiful- I wouldn't mind the Audrey Hepburn illustration myself! Her designs showed how fashion has renewed- I would love to get my hands on most of her creations- and how many trends can be seen again now.
Finally what I loved most about her designs is how wearable they were and are, they are unique and quirky yet I could imagine wearing them and feeling stylish but comfortable.
I really recommend heading down to it if you get the chance!

Tweed and Tee's

T-Shirt- River Island / Skirt- Topshop / Bag- Yumi / Belt- New Look / Shoes- Accessorize
I have to say I am not usually one to wear T-Shirts but I felt it was time to style one up in my kind of style. I chose to style up this River Island tee which I bought a little while ago. I paired it with a smart pastel tweed skirt to add some glamour and a feminine touch. Finally I finished with flat pointed pumps and a small quilted bag. I think I am transformed- on the look out for more tees now!
As the clocks went back it has been dark whenever I get home from school making it hard to take photos outside so I had to make do with our living room curtains as a backdrop- hope the pictures are okay!

Soft and Tough

Jumper- H&M / Skirt- H&M / Boots- Primark / Lipstick- The Body Shop

Sorry I haven't posted much recently I have had a lot of school work to do and just not enough time to fit everything in. I have recently started sixth form and topics are starting to get more and more difficult which they always warn us about but it always comes as quite a shock. But I will definately be trying to post more!
This is an outfit I wore last week wearing my H&M leather panelled skirt with an oversized cable knit jumper to create a soft and tough contrast in materials and colours.

Winter Coat

Coat- Next / Jumper- Burtons / Jeans- Cheap Mondays / Scarf- Charity Shop / Bag- New Look / Boots- Primark / Belt-Topshop
Seeing as its started to get really chilly and the clocks have gone back it felt the right time to share my new winter coat. It is a lovely black and grey tweed in a boyfriend style which is just what I wanted this year. I finished off the look with black skinny jeans, an oversized jumper, ankle boots and contrasting brown bag and belt. Finally I wore my new faux fur scarf which I bought for £3 recently in a charity shop which is perfect for finishing off most looks and really is warm!

Audrey Glamour

Trousers- Topshop / Turtle neck- H&M / Coat- Ebay / Belt- Primark / Shoes- Accessorize

Another look based around the classic black and white combination. This look inspired by Audrey Hepburn from the film Sabrina when she is wearing the black high neck top and high waisted capri pants. Audrey Hepburn is a very obvious style icon but it is her pure simplistic glamour which inspires me most. For my spin on the look I wore these trousers from Topshop which have a beautiful houndstooth pattern with my black turtle neck tucked in at the waist. I call these trousers but they are rather like leggings except much thicker and they have a zip down the side. But whatever you wish to call them I love the fit and the slightly cropped length. This is another simple outfit yet I like to think it is rather glamorous due to its simplicity and how it highlights your waist perfectly!
I wore this turtle neck in a previous post and I hope with this blog I can show you that items can be worn again and again in so many different ways...

Orange Love...

Coat- Ebay / Skirt- Forever 21 / Scarf- Vintage / Shoes- New Look / Bag- Ted Baker / Earrings- Accessorize
I have had a new love in my life since Monday in the form of this bright orange swing coat. Since it arrived on my doorstep I have not taken it off and have worn it in a number of ways so I thought I would share with you my favourite look so far. I paired the coat with this forever 21 lace pencil skirt and block heeled black ankle boots, adding some height to balance out the volume of the coat. I added a vintage scarf in similar colours and a Ted Baker clutch to add a spot of glamour and finish off the look.
I have been searching for a coat like this for a while and when I came across this coat on Ebay I bidded for it straight away and ended up getting it for just 99p which I could not believe! Although it is such a bright colour I am finding it very versatile and the shape of it is very 1940/50s- my favourite eras. My mission is now to search out more swing coats in different colours!

Leather

Polo top- H&M / Skirt- H&M / Tights- M&S / Shoes- BHS

This although being an all black outfit was a little bit out my normal comfort zone due to the very high neckline and very short hemline. I had not worn a polo neck since I was about eight years old and was stuck with the lovely image of a rather dennis the menace style one I used to own, however I brought this one the other day in H&M and am starting to like them once again. The top is made from a fairly lightweight cotton making it perfect for winter layering under jumpers and dresses in the winter. I also brought this skirt in H&M and fell in love with the leather panels. I had wanted a leather item for my wardrobe for a while but had not found anything that was to the right style or within my budget but this skirt fits right in- at a bargain price of £15 and having slightly more subtle leather side panels.

I put this outfit together with a sixties style in mind yet with a modern twist as I felt like it was rather edgy when I was wearing it. I finished the look with woolen tight- my winter wardrobe must- and mid-heeled court shoes.
Thank you for reading and sorry for some of the overly posey photos!
